While the intrusion of self-proclaimed Sultan of Sulu followers’ intrusion at Lahad Datu in Sabah and the subsequent bloodbath took the major coverage in the media, another sideshow in Tamil dailies, also, attracted Traveler’s attention.
Apparently, the Malaysian government gave USD 1 million (RM 3.2 million) to Tamil Forum Malaysia (TFM) last year.
The money was supposed to be for the misfortunate war torn Sri Lankan Tamils specifically for 1700 families (read the news below).
However, now some people are alleging that the fund has been misused. They demand transparency and full accountability of the funds provided.
What is wrong in the request? The money from the government is essentially every taxpayer’s money.
But, the irony is that a man with questionable back ground, notoriously known as Puchong Murali, is the one spearheading the allegations against TFM.
This man is a drifter, a thug and should be called Puchong Pig rather than Puchong Murali. Once an attack dog of Samy Vellu, used to terrorize Maika Shareholders, now he hangs around with Justice party (PKR) Vice President, Surendran.
Once he was beaten, left and right, by MIC gangsters in front of Prime Minister’s office.
On the other hand, TFM, founded two years ago, said to have misused the 3.2 million funds targeting mainly Arumugam Kalimuthu, leaving the President Iyngkaran Nagalingam, his wife Kunaletchumy Iyngkaran and Pasupathy Sithamparam.
Arumugam has an impeccable record of accomplishment serving the Indian community via EWRF, CHILD, Tamil Foundation, Sembaruthi, SUARAM and etc., spanning more than 25 years.
Whatever it may be, the issues raised are indeed legitimate and the response so far from Arumugam is pathetic, dramatizing the whole issue by turning up at Klang police station and requesting the police to investigate.

Is he trying to put the issues in cold storage?
Having written a book on Police violence against Indians, Arumugam should be in a better position to understand our snail pace police investigations. Leaving the matter to police is not going to help.
If there is nothing to hide, why not publicly disclose the accounts of the 3.2 million fund given to TFM. Matter closed.
Why drag the matter?
The response public gets is, precisely, the same like the response public got for the queries raised on Midland Tamil School building Fund and the Simpang Lima Tamil School building Fund; the accounts were never disclosed and no satisfactory answers were given to the public till today.
Look at the 3.2 million recipient website: www.tfmb.com.my

Website is supposed to be informative but the TFM website will raise your eyebrows. More and more questions are coming to our mind.
The TFM membership fee is RM 1000. Is this club only for elite Indians?
What is your total current membership? Is there a check and balance? Does a bunch of few elite Indians control it?
NST report says, TFM is a coalition of 40 NGO’s. What are these NGO’s? TFM website does not mention anything pertaining to this contrary to NST news. Can we hold the 40 NGO’s liable for the 3.2 million or liable for RM 10?
TFM is soliciting “self-less and generous donations” online. Donations could pour from all over the world.
Are you not morally obliged to disclose your audited accounts to the worldwide donors?
TFM received 3.2 million taxpayers money, why no telephone contact number, why no email for public to provide feedback on your activities? Even the basic information is missing.
We can go on asking endless questions.
