PETALING JAYA: THE discord over Astro's new satellite dish that reduces signal loss during rainstorms has veered into committal proceedings against the local producer of the parabolic antenna.
AV Asia Sdn Bhd, the company claiming to own the data to manufacture the dish, has sought to commit the group general manager of Tele System Electronic (M) Sdn Bhd, B.Jayaprakash for criminal contempt.
The company, in its application for leave to the High Court to file committal proceedings, named Measat Broadcast Network Systems Sdn Bhd (MBNS) and Tele System as the defendants.

MALAYSIA AIRLINES, which previously banned infants from first-class cabins on its 747-400s, will do the same on its newer Airbus A380s, its chief exeutive, Tengku Azmil Aziz told Australian Business Traveller on Sunday via Twitter. Every business traveller knows that a crying infant can ruin what otherwise might be a fairly restful night in first or business class. But sometimes new parents need to fly, too. Should they and their offspring really be relegated to the back of the plane for the greater good?

Indian Mango Growers To Seize Malaysian Market

NEW DELHI, June 1 (Bernama) -- India, the world's largest mango exporter, planned to expand its market share in Malaysia this year after exports were forecast to hit 70,000 tonnes this season.

After a pre-season fear of mango production could dip this year, mainly the delicious Alphonso variety, due to extreme winter last year and non seasonal rain, growers are now optimistic that exports would not dwindle.

Robert Kuok Tops The List Of 40 Richest Malaysian Individuals

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 16 (Bernama) -- Robert Kuok, the sugar king who owns a string of five-star hotels in the region, retained his position as the richest individual in Malaysia with assets worth a staggering RM50.04 billion. with telecommunications tycoon T. Ananda Krishnan, who is worth RM45.78 billion, coming in a close second.

In third place is Public Bank chairman Tan Sri Teh Hong Piow, who moved up one notch with a fortune of RM12.77 billion, said the Malaysian Business magazine based on a survey of the 40 richest individuals in the country.

KUALA LUMPUR — French retail giant Carrefour plans to sell its business in Malaysia, a minister said, amid speculation the firm will also offload its Singapore and Thai stores and exit Southeast Asia altogether."We heard that Carrefour is considering divesting. It is for the purpose of rationalisation of their overseas business," deputy trade minister Mukhriz Mahathir told AFP late Monday.

Judge Datuk Azahar Mohamed made the ruling after allowing an application by Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority of India (APEDA) an four others to nullify the trademark used by the company.

Malaysia's Richest Record Better Fortunes Last Year, Magazine Survey Reveals

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 16 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's 40 richest people recorded an increase in their fortunes as they were collectively worth RM156.7 billion as at Jan 15, or 63 per cent more than the RM96.3 billion a year ago, on the back of a recovery in the stock market, a "Malaysian Business" survey reveals.

However, according to the fortnightly magazine's survey results released in a statement Tuesday, their combined wealth was still less than the RM171.9 billion recorded in 2008.
