Badawi has two concerns only

From Bersih to Hindraf, the minorities in Malaysia have been awakened. They seek fairness in every aspect of government dealings. All the arrest that is happening today is to protect the Bumiputra’s and UMNO’s unchallenged status.

These are Badawi’s two concerns. One at a time, Badawi will clean up the country to the point no one is left to challenge UMNO or the Bumiputras. When Badawi talks about public safety, what he really meant is Bumiputra safety. The MALAYsian government only concern about preserving the Bumiputra preferential treatment. To that end, Badawi will use the power given to him by all races to protect only the Bumiputras from any social challenge. That is why Badawi is not interested in any debate with Bersih or Hindraf. Badawi lacks the skills to debate and convince Bersih and Hindraf. It is easier to use police and judicial systems to lock Bersih and Hindraf. Why engage in civilized debate? It is hard to debate and protect Bumiputras preferential treatment status. Essentially UMNO have created an apartheid climate in Malaysia.

Both MCA and MIC has become UMNO’s poodle. These two groups will bark and bite anything UMNO points to. UMNO enjoys unlimited and unchallenged power because MCA and MIC lack the backbone to be equal to UMNO in Barisan Nasional. It is almost like the Barisan Nasional is UMNO alone. Otherwise, power would be shared or rotated. As such, Badawi’s second concern is to maintain the power of UMNO. That is why Badawi is using ISA and Seditions Act as a weapon of intimidation. Badawi’s concern is how to kill any challenge to UMNO while portraying himself as the prime minister to all races. So far Badawi’s government has not answered Bersih or Hindraf call for policy change. Instead Badawi is answering their call with police power. Badawi’s concern is UMNO and Bumiputra status only.
