He also hit out at Ramasamy's aide, saying it was the aide that
provoked the MIC Youth members who had gone to submit a memorandum to
Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng on Thursday.
Ramasamy said yesterday that an MIC Youth member had assaulted his aide M. Sattees.
It was reported that Sattees, 24, was punched during a scuffle after
the memorandum was handed to the chief minister's political secretary,
Ng Wei Aik, at Komtar.
The Kampung Lorong Buah Pala issue became heated after the
Federal Court ordered the 23 families living in the 2.6ha village to
vacate the land by Aug 2.
But residents have refused to move and are pressuring the state government for help.
Samy Vellu also slammed former MIC deputy president Datuk S.
Subramaniam, who is expected to contest the post of deputy president in
the September party polls.
Speaking after handing loans to 93
young Indian entrepreneurs, Samy Vellu questioned Subramaniam's
contribution to the party over the last 25 years.
He said Subramaniam was responsible for Maika Holding's failure to return shareholders their money.
It was reported that Nesa Cooperative Bhd, which Subramaniam heads, has
applied for an injunction to stop the sale of an insurance company
owned by Maika Holdings.
"I'm very wounded. Because of him, Maika Holdings' shareholders lost the opportunity to get back their money.
"You know why he does it? Because he wants the 66,000 shareholders to curse me."
Vellu revealed a pact he made with Subramaniam five months ago.
Sunbramaniam would withdraw the injunction and Samy Vellu would not
endorse any candidate in party elections.
"What kind of man goes against his word? He doesn't have the community's interest at heart."************

"With this business loan from the government, we want to establish
more young entrepreneurs among the Indian youths. This loan will help
the Indian community in achieving three percent equity by the year
2015," he said at the cheque presentation ceremony for the Indian Young

A total of 93 entrepreneurs received loans amounting to RM761,000

Later, when asked on his endorsement for in*****bent deputy
president Datuk G. Palanivel to defend the party's No. 2 post at the
MIC elections on Sept 12, he said, as a party leader, the action was
necessary as he needed someone who he could work with.
Asked on the MIC offer to provide RM3.2 million to get back the
land in Kampung Buah Pala, Bukit Gelugor from the developer to enable
the residents to continue living in the village, Samy Vellu said: "It
was just a suggestion, but we want to know why Pakatan Rakyat did not
fulfill their promises made during the election on March 8 last year to
solve the problem faced by the residents there."
The Kampung Buah Pala land controversy came about when the
villagers were ordered to vacate the land before Aug 3 following the
sale of the 2.6ha land by the previous state government to Koperasi
Pegawai Kerajaan Pulau Pinang Bhd, which then appointed Nusmetro
Ventures (P) Sdn Bhd to develop the land.
