MIC
By: Traveler

Like a bumblebee MIC president S Samy Vellu has kept himself busy launching one project after another over the years to help Indians while his deputy S Subramaniam sits pretty like a Barbie doll, watching and waiting.

Samy Vellu helping Indians ? or helping himself and his cronies for the past 25 years. From Maika scandal to AIMST College he has swindled the Indian community. The Indian situation is evident from the deteriorating equity ownership outlined in the 9th. Malaysia plan.

It is a strange political relationship, the party president running about while his deputy does nothing.

Samy is like Sadam Husein. He will slaughter mercilessly anyone who tries to outshine him. That’s why he is the sole Indian Minister -- before him we had two full cabinet ministers -- in the cabinet after Manika and never groomed anyone to be his successor. Palanivel has no support of his own and entirely depends on Samy.

This waiting-for-the-durian-to-fall strategy has become a big joke in the MIC.
He did not protest when Samy Vellu began chopping off Subramaniam’s allies, friends and grassroots supporters.

The writer must be living in a jungle. As usual the elite English educated journalist never understand Indian-Malaysian politics and tend to exhibit their abysmal ignorance. Subra still enjoys wide range of grassroots, as well as Indian NGO’s support. The powerful peoples unjust manner to unseat him has generated enormous support, more than ever, for Subra. Many party leaders have quietly thrown their allegiance to Subra.

Eventually Subramaniam became so isolated in the MIC that not one person in the 23 member Central Working Committee would openly speak up for him.

This is the same scenario in UMNO, MCA, Gerakan, PPP, IPF and any other political party in the country. That doesn’t mean the opponents do not enjoy any support. One will come to open when the time comes.

"I can’t hand over to Subramaniam because he was never loyal to the party nor worked with the leadership as one team," Samy Vellu is telling delegates now. Palanivel has worked with me, Subramaniam has worked against me.

Yes, Palanivel works with Sadam Husein Samy nothing less than a slave treating his supporters like morons who will accept any garbage that he vomits. Those attending MIC AGM’s  would have seen this.

His supporters however argued Samy Vellu has never allowed Subramaniam to shine. He would have been sacked immediately if he had outshined the president, one of his supporters said. The truth is Subramaniam’s wait-and-do-nothing strategy has finally caught up with him. His supporters waited for that decisive battle against Samy Vellu but that day never came.

The truth is the writer is pro-Palanivel. At one point the writer says Subra is plotting against Samy using Nanban and here the writer say “do nothing strategy”. Is he confused?

Palanivel has been working very hard both as MP for Hulu Selangor constituency and as deputy minister and MIC vice-president - preparing the ground for this big battle.

Palanivel hardly speaks in Parliament about Indian community issues, what’s more about his constituency. Recently, a Tamil newspaper highlighted the plight of a Tamil School without electricity for years in his own constituency. What is Palanivel doing?

It could be the biggest battle of his political career. With Samy Vellu backing him, victory is only a question of by how many votes. Subramanian’s campaign appears to be centred on letting the Tamil newspapers aligned with him, to speak for him. They are attacking his opponents indirectly with nasty poems, venomous editorials and skewered reports. It will only get worse as polling nears.

English writers ignorance. Feeding non backed up claim to English speaking readers. Palanivel is equally using Tamil Nesan,  trying to control Tamil Kural and Nanban to attack Subra who is left with only Makkal Osi.
