Chitrakala's Police Report - Malay Mail

* Claimed that RM2 million for the tsunami victims in Sri Lanka was collected in 2004 under the Ministry of Works, when Samy Vellu was minister.

* Alleged the money was subsequently transferred to the account of MIC’s social welfare arm Yayasan Pemulihan Sosial (YPS) of which Samy Vellu is chairman and Chitrakala the CEO.

* Alleged that Samy Vellu had said the cash was extras from the funds that were collected and intended for future use for the people of Sri Lanka.

* Alleged that Samy Vellu had asked her to place the RM2 million in fixed deposit.

* Claimed she was making the police report “to avoid the possibility of Samy Vellu using the RM2 million for any other unauthorised purpose and putting the blame on me”.

* Alleged lorry loads of files and documents were carted away from the MIED office on Jan 2, when she was told to go on leave pending an internal probe.

* Gave details of a heated confrontation she had with Samy Vellu in his office on Dec 31, 2008, in the presence of MIC vice-presidents Datuk S. Veerasingham and Datuk S. Sothinathan.

No Suits Against Samy Vellu, Wife And Tamil Nesan Over Defamatory Words

Oct 21 (Bernama) -- The defamation suits filed by former Maju Institute of Educational Development (MIED) chief executive officer P. Chithirakala against former MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu and two others, have reached an out-of-court settlement. This followed Chithirakala filing a notice of discontinuance of the suits last Tuesday, at the High Court. (......more)

Press Statement by MIC Youth coordinator T. Mohan

March 17 2009 -- Referring to the front page report in Makkal Osai, I wish to categorically state that the report in the newspaper as well as in the Indian Malaysian Online were total fabrication of lies.

I am seeking legal opinion in order to initiate legal proceedings against the newspaper and the online portal.

The suspended MIED CEO Chithrakala is a partner in Suria Setia Capital Berhad (SSCB)  and Silverline Sdn Bhd. She had invested RM3.5 mil in SSCB for a deal which later did not go through and she had taken back the money. (.....more)
